Ashley Judd She revealed that she and her alleged rapist had a “restorative justice conversation” years after the incident.
Judd, 54, told David Kessler about the conversation Tuesday on the podcast episode “Healing.” The actress claimed that she was raped in 1999 and that her alleged rapist “turned up very easily” when she looked for him years later.
“To cut the long story short, we ended up in rocking chairs sitting by a stream,” Judd recalls. And I said, ‘I’m very interested in hearing the story you’ve carried all these years. “And we had a conversation about restorative justice.”
“I wanted to share this story because there are so many ways to heal from grief, and it is important to remind listeners that I didn’t need any of it, and it was worth boring that he made up his mind and expressed deep remorse, because healing from grief is an inner work.”
Judd said she “lost her sense of confidence” at the time.
In 2019, while he was talking about abortion rights, The “Double Jeopardy” star has claimed that she was raped three times.
“I am so grateful to have had access to a safe and legal abortion,” she said at the Women in the World Summit in New York that year. “Because the rapist, who is from Kentucky, like me and I am a Tennessee resident, has paternity rights in Kentucky and Tennessee. I had to share my parents with my rapist.”
“So safe access to abortion was personally important to me, and as I said earlier, democracy begins with our skin. We are not supposed to regulate what we choose to do with our internal affairs.”
