Fan Remastering The Simpsons: Hit & Run – Including Hand Drawing of All Pieces – IGN – IGN

A dedicated fan creates a remaster for The Simpsons: Hit & Run – while hand-drawing every scene of the game in classic Simpsons style.

“I would like to see the cinematic scenes of Hit & Run in current 3D technology like [the] In the video “Crash Bandicoot remake or Battle for Bikini Bottom” they said, “I don’t have much experience with 3D animation, so it’s better to choose 2D.”

El Gato Del Tejado explained that they tried rotoscoping – where animators trace frame by frame – but that only worked for backgrounds and not actual characters. The only alternative was to hand-draw it, and several pages of research paper on the work of Matt Groening, the Simpsons creator, were shown before the final result. Rather than being 3D like the original game, the remaster will have a short style that is closer to the Simpsons animation.

However, outside of the scenes, El Gato Del Tejado updates the original 3D look of the game. a previous video Show modem work to recreate dozens of textures, and update Homer Simpson’s model to offer a more modern look at the character. It obviously won’t be a quick process, as El Gato Del Tejado readily admits to the problems they’ve faced (including how Bart’s nose disappeared with the new style and how Lisa turned into a monster), but the work so far is stunningly beautiful.

El Gato Del Tejado did not provide a timetable for how long the work might take, but did provide Open Patreon To help finance the project.

It’s not the first remake of The Simpsons: Hit & Run, as many other mods have tried to recreate the beloved open-world game.

A mod has started recreating the game in Unreal Engine 5, impressing the original lead designer, while a Dreams player has created perhaps the strangest version yet. Finally, this silly chainsaw mod perfectly combines The Simpsons: Hit and Run with God of War.
